Ultra World X-Tet typically performs in either a quartet or quintet configuration depending on the size and type of venue.
The quartet: includes guzheng, saxophone/bamboo flute, bass, drums.
The quintet: adds one more Chinese instrument, such as yangqin, guzheng, pipa.
While our repertoire is basically the same for quartet or quintet each configuration has special arrangements designed to maximize the instrumental colors while delivering a rich, full sound with maximum impact. The group has performed in intimate rooms, large concert halls, corporate events at large hotel ballrooms, outdoor festivals, jazz clubs, restaurants, wineries, resorts, weddings....you name it and we've done it.
